Jamie O’Hara has taken to Twitter after hearing that Tottenham had agreed a £25m deal to sign Yves Bissouma from Premier League rivals Brighton.

What’s the story?

Well, this is big news for Spurs fans, to say the least.

Bissouma has been one of the best performing midfielders in the Premier League for some time now, and he looks set to become Tottenham’s third signing of the summer after Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

As aforesaid, a £25m deal has been agreed, and the Mali international will undergo a medical in north London later this week before signing a five-year contract at Hotspur Way.

You can see how O’Hara reacted to the news below.

For a 25-year-old in the prime of his career, you may think £25m is quite a low fee.

In truth, it is, although Brighton have been forced to slash their asking price due to the fact Bissouma has now entered the final 12 months of his contract – clearly, there were fears he wouldn’t sign a renewal.

Interestingly, the Telegraph believe Tottenham tried to sign the Malian in 2021, but Brighton demanded £40m.

Now, Antonio Conte is set to sign the Brighton No.8 in a significantly cheaper deal.

Yves Bissouma will transform Tottenham

In our view, this is an early candidate for signing of the summer.

Despite Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s many talents, the Dane doesn’t really offer much alongside Rodrigo Bentancur – the pair are quite similar.

However, if the Uruguay international was partnered with Bissouma, a player who drives forward far more than Hojbjerg does, it could transform Spurs.

The Malian is more creative than Hojbjerg, while he also boasts better dribbling skills and has a lot more pace in his locker in comparison to the man signed from Southampton.

If Fabio Paratici can get this deal over the line, it would be a tremendous bit of business – to say the least.
