According to Estadio Deportivo, reported Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa target Jonathan David could move for a cut-price figure this summer.

The Gent striker has been in superb form, netting 22 goals in all competitions.

Belgium’s season ended early due to the global health crisis and players such as David have been tipped to move as clubs struggle financially.

The striker has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with Walfoot claiming Tottenham, Villa and West Ham United scouted him in Europe League action.

Gent seemingly set a high asking price with a summer sale in mind.

But now, Estadio Deportivo claim the Belgian club have dropped his price-tag to a bargain £13.5 million as La Liga side Real Betis join the hunt for his signature.

The Spanish editorial claim Betis are trying to tie down Loren Moron to a new contract. And, they want to partner him with David upfront next season.

For the reported figure, Spurs and Villa would be wise to seek a deal.

Tottenham struggled for goals prior to the Covid-19 suspension. Jose Mourinho’s side managed just five goals in their last six encounters in all competitions.

Spurs need an alternative to Harry Kane and must address this in the summer.

Villa, meanwhile, will certainly have a big summer ahead of them depending on what league they are in next season.

The Villans are 19th in the Premier League table. A lack of goals has been their downfall, with Wesley’s injury prompting the club to sign Mbwana Samatta in January.
