PSV Eindhoven have secured a huge coup for themselves today, confirming the signing of Toulouse star Ibrahim Sangare.
Sangare has been a highly-rated midfielder for some time now, and it’s no surprise that he attracted major interest after Toulouse’s relegation.
Get French Football News reported in August that Tottenham wanted to sign Sangare, having shown an ‘intense interest’ in him.
Toulouse allegedly wanted up to £18million at the time, but then slashed their asking price – and that sparked even more interest.
The Telegraph reported last week that Southampton were keen to sign Sangare, ironically viewing him as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who joined Tottenham.
However, both Spurs and Southampton have now missed out, as PSV have confirmed his signing in a deal worth just €9million (£8.15million) according to Jeunes Footeux.

PSV describe him as ‘dynamic and physically strong’, and director of football John de Jong believes that the 22-year-old has everything required to be a ‘great player’.
The giant Ivorian has seemingly prioritised first-team football over a big move, and it would be little surprise to see PSV make big profit on Sangare.
Maybe Spurs and Southampton will keep tabs on his progress in the Netherlands, as he should be a real talent for the future – but they almost certainly won’t get him for such a bargain price again.
