Spurs moved back to N17 and into the brand new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this year.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has given his opinion on the club’s new stadium, highlighting the feature he feels is especially impressive.
After a number of delays, Spurs finally moved back to N17 in April, inaugurating the 62,062-seater ground with a number of test events followed by a Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
The anxiety amongst the fans as the months rolled on and the moving-in date kept being pushed back are now a thing of the past, with the state-of-the-art construction the perfect new home for a team that has come such a long way in recent years.
One particular feature which has been praised at the new stadium is the single-tier South Stand, which has been influenced by Borussia Dortmund‘s Yellow Wall at the Signal Iduna Park, as reported by talkSPORT.
Indeed, following the Crystal Palace game, Dele Alli admitted the noise of the chanting from the South Stand, which quickly spread all around the stadium, took him and his Tottenham teammates by surprise by how loud it was (official Spurs website).
Skipp echoed his teammate in praising the feature, telling the club site: “The new stadium is amazing, especially the big single-tier stand behind the goal. You can see on Champions League nights how special it is. Playing Manchester City at home especially, it just created an atmosphere that the players can thrive off and produce top performances.”
The 18-year-old will be hoping to become a Spurs first-team fixture and experience more special nights fuelled by the noise of the South Stand in 2019-20, having made 12 senior appearances in all competitions for the club last term, according to Transfermarkt.
