Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has been described as Real Madrid’s “perfect signing” this summer by Spanish football expert Graham Hunter.
The 26-year-old is enjoying another stellar season for Spurs, with six goals and nine assists under his belt this term in 26 appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
However, Eriksen’s contract at the Premier League club runs until the summer of 2020, which has prompted some speculation regarding his future.
In addition, the Denmark international recently told TV3 Sport how the north London outfit knows exactly what he wants, while the Independent claims that Spurs are willing to offer him a new deal worth somewhere between £200,000 and £250,000 per week.
Although Lilywhites manager Mauricio Pochettino remains optimistic that Eriksen will sign a contract extension, Hunter told the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast that he thinks the north Londoners may find it hard to hold onto Eriksen this summer.
“There is no question whatsoever that Real Madrid see Christian Eriksen as the perfect signing,” said Hunter. “They would like to add him to their squad this summer.”

In addition, Hunter spoke of how Luka Modric, himself a legend at White Hart Lane, could be leaving the Bernabeu this summer, and “patent similarities” between the Croatian and Eriksen appear to have convinced Los Blancos that the Dane should be sought after.
“Real Madrid wish to add Eriksen, albeit he is not an identical player to Luka Modric but there are patent similarities and, if Modric has his way, I think he will move to Inter Milan this summer,” said Hunter.
