Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Pedro Porro with the Sporting wing back expected to board a flight to London very soon.
That’s according to Spanish newspaper AS, who report that Tottenham have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place to sign Porro.
It’s stated that Tottenham will actually end up paying over Porro’s €45million (£40million) release clause, with the total deal reaching €50million (£44million).
Tottenham wanted to pay the fee in instalments rather than in one go, hence the higher price.
Porro is expected to fly to England imminently and he has agreed a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2028.
Fabrizio Romano adds that the plan was for Porro to say goodbye to Sporting fans and teammates on Saturday night and fly to London.
Romano claims that Porro’s medical is imminent and Tottenham never thought that the deal would collapse despite some reports suggesting that on Saturday.

Pedro Porro heads for Tottenham after losing cup final
Tottenham claimed an FA Cup win on Saturday evening as they beat Preston North End 3-0 at Deepdale.
Over in Portugal, Porro was lining up for Sporting as they faced rivals Porto in the Taca da Liga final.
The night ended in disappointment for Porro and co, as Sporting lost 2-0 thanks to goals from Stephen Eustaquio and Ivan Marcano.
Porro would have loved to leave as a champion but sadly goes out with a defeat.
Tottenham will probably just be relieved that Porro didn’t pick up an injury in that game.
Imagine if Tottenham had spent the whole of January trying to sign Porro, only for him to pick up an injury after agreeing the deal?
You could say that would be ‘Spursy’ but that situation has been avoided and Porro can now finally head to England and hopefully become the wing back Antonio Conte has so desperately wanted.
