Everton should seriously consider a move for the midfielder this summer.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has a lot of work to do at Goodison Park during the summer, if he is to build a squad of players who are capable of making progress on what has been a difficult campaign this season.
One particular area of concern for the Toffees boss will be his central midfield department, with a lack of bite and aggression making them somewhat easy to play against.
Everton have been a far cry from the team that has been so hard to play against in recent years, and Allardyce needs to bring in a strong midfield enforcer to help change that.

With this in mind, the Blues should consider a move for Sporting Lisbon ace William Carvalho, who is available for around €40 million (£35 million) this summer, according to Portuguese media outlet JN.
The 26-year-old is powerful, aggressive, and provides a shield for his defence – something that Everton have lacked in midfield recently.
He is also a competent passer and a serial winner. The Portugal international would be the ideal foil for the likes of Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson at Goodison Park, and would provide Allardyce with a far more balanced setup.

Carvalho has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, but his price-tag has always put off any potential suitors.
At the age of 26 now, though, he has entered his peak years, and £35 million would surely be considered as decent value.
If Allardyce does in fact manage to bring the Portuguese to Goodison Park, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Everton.
