Could Tottenham take another look at Adrien Silva?

Last summer Tottenham Hotspur were linked by The Sun with making a £13 million for Sporting Lisbon star Adrien Silva.
This bid was insufficient, with the club captain going on to sign a new contract at the club in late August with a 45 million Euro release clause.
The 28-year-old midfielder has remained a regular for Sporting this past season, helping them finish third in the Primeira Liga.
Now it appears that Sporting are open to offers, with newspaper O Jogo claiming they are willing to sell below his release clause.

Their change of heart is due to the signings of Mattheus Oliviera and Rodrigo Battaglia, with Sporting now believing they have sufficient cover to be able to cope with Silva’s departure.
The questions are now whether Tottenham consider they still need or want him, and how much they might be willing to spend?
Tottenham’s priorities this summer are in other areas, with a new striker, winger, possibly a full-back and central defender on their list of areas to improve.

Harry Winks’ emergence also reduces the club’s need to splash out on a central midfielder, although Silva would represent an experienced addition with Champions League nous.
The Mail however reported last week that Tottenham want two midfielders signed this summer, perhaps taking into account an injury suffered by Mousa Dembele which he will have surgery on this summer.
If Silva can now be signed at a more reasonable price then he would certainly be a smart addition and really strengthen an already formidable side.
