Liverpool have been closely monitoring RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita this summer, according to reports.
The Reds’ pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita looks set to end in disappointment after the club’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick bullishly told reporters that they have no intention of selling any of their key players, as quoted by the Mirror.
The £70 million-rated midfielder has been the subject of intense interest from Liverpool, according to the Independent, with Jürgen Klopp determined to add some dynamism to his engine room.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss might just have to switch targets though, following Rangnick’s comments regarding the 22-year-old’s future.

The Leipzig supremo told reporters how his club are under no pressure whatsoever to sell, and there is no amount of money that will make them change their stance, as quoted by the Mirror:
“We will definitely not be letting any key players go. There’s nothing that will make us budge. It’s totally normal for clubs to be interested in our players, but that doesn’t affect our stance on the matter.”
The Guinea midfielder was sensational in the Bundesliga last season, scoring eight goals and chipping in with seven assists in 31 league outings, and Liverpool and Klopp will be severely disappointed after hearing Rangnick’s words.
Football is a funny old game though, and it will be interesting to see if the German side’s stance changes if and when the Reds submit a concrete offer for Keita.
