Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has been discussing Antonio Conte and his demeanour during Tottenham’s pre-season.

The north London club have had a remarkable summer so far, signing no fewer than five players already in the transfer window.

As we all ought to know by now, Conte is a hard man to impress. After all, he’s fallen out with the board at almost every club he’s worked for.

However, the Italian is reportedly a very happy man at Tottenham, and according to Jones, he’s like a completely different person behind the scenes at the moment.

What’s been said?

Jones spoke about Conte’s mood at Spurs.

“It’s just perfect for Conte. He’s so happy right now and that’s what is key. Keeping Conte as happy as he is right now is just an absolute win for Tottenham and Daniel Levy and everyone at the club,” Jones said.

“I spoke to someone who is on tour with them and they said Conte is just so happy, he just seems like a different person. Of course, you still see the warrior side of him, sending players on 42 laps of the pitch in that heat, but his demeanour, he looks like a man who is very content at the moment and that isn’t always the case with Antonio Conte.”

The future is bright

With a happy Antonio Conte in the hotseat, the future looks very bright at Tottenham.

The Italian is one of the absolute best coaches in the world, and, usually, the only thing that stops him is himself.

Indeed, Conte can sometimes be his own worth enemy as he’s quickly become unsettled at a number of clubs he’s worked for, but it sounds like Spurs have finally found the magical formula to keep him on side.

A happy Conte could lead Spurs to glory.
