Some Tottenham fans are over the moon after Sky Sports reported that they want to sign Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey this summer.
Sky state that Tottenham have an interest in bringing Lamptey to north London ahead of the 2021/22 season, and as you can probably imagine, this sparked something of a reaction from the Spurs fanbase.
Understandably, Tottenham fans were thrilled with the links to Lamptey.
Lamptey is certainly a player who catches the eye, and while he does have some flaws in his game defensively, his pace, acceleration and dribbling ability make him an absolute joy to watch, and it seems as though a number of Spurs supporters have been impressed by the Brighton man.
To be fair, it’s impossible not to be impressed when you watch Lamptey play, and the fact that he only appeared 11 times in the Premier League last season means there’s still a level of mystique around the 20-year-old.
One fan even went as far as to suggest that Tottenham should spend any windfall they get from selling Harry Kane on Lamptey.
Would Lamptey be a success at Spurs? Fans certainly think so, and they’ve taken to social media to make their thoughts known after these links emerged.
