Specsavers have taken to Twitter to send Marcelo Bielsa a message, after Patrick Bamford shared what happened at Thorp Arch recently.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the £7 million Leeds man revealed that he broke Bielsa’s glasses after accidentally smashing the ball at him!

Bamford said: “The ball has come in and I’ve connected with it so sweetly on my left foot and it’s near the top corner, and he’s stood right inside the goal.

“I’ve not seen him and, I’m not joking, it’s come flush off the bridge of his nose. All I’ve seen is his glasses go flying about ten metres and him holding his nose.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed when he’s doing an interview he’s using the same glasses and they’re not straight, they’re wonky. I feel bad, I should really get him a new pair but I’m scared to bring it up again.”

The Argentine’s glasses are now wonky, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to wear them.

Have a look at some of his recent interviews, and you can see what Bamford is talking about – his glasses are visibly broken.

After hearing what happened, Specsavers reached out to Bielsa to send him a message about his wonky glasses.

If anyone should be paying for the ex-Marseille manager’s new specs, it should be Bamford!

In fairness, the 14-goal man did say he felt bad, and that he should buy his boss a new pair.

However, Bamford also admitted he’s ‘scared’ to bring the incident up again!

It doesn’t seem as if Bielsa has held a grudge against his No.9 after he damaged his glasses.

Bamford continues to start week in, week out for Leeds, and is enjoying a simply brilliant campaign.

The 27-year-old has scored 14 goals in 33 Premier League appearances this term, while also assisting eight goals – what a fantastic return that is.
