After today’s entertaining Sidemen Charity Match between Sidemen FC and YouTube All Stars, Specsavers bizarrely decided to mock Tottenham.
Sidemen Charity Match sees Specsavers aim dig at Tottenham
Well, the highly anticipated Sidemen Charity Match – which was hosted by Charlton at The Valley – ended with a win for the Sidemen FC by a ridiculous 8-7 scoreline in front of more than 27,000 people.
In securing the victory, the Sidemen FC were presented with a trophy, which is where Specsavers saw an opportunity to poke fun at Tottenham.
The well-known opticians joked that the Sidemen FC have now won more titles than Spurs after today’s success in south London.
Of course, it’s a jibe designed to mock the north Londoners for their lack of glory in recent times.
In terms of their entire history, Tottenham have actually won plenty of major trophies, including eight FA Cups and two league titles.
Tottenham can change their fortunes
In our view, Tottenham have a great chance to win their first piece of silverware since 2008 this season.
Spurs remain unbeaten in the Premier League after seven games, with five wins and two draws to show for their efforts.
With Antonio Conte at the helm – a man who has even described himself as a “serial winner” – we see no reason why Tottenham cannot win a trophy this season.

The Premier League title would be an ambitious target at this stage of the Italian’s tenure, although we can certainly see the north Londoners winning the FA Cup, at least, this term.
Having said that, Spurs are currently level on 17 points with reigning champions Manchester City, while usual title contenders Liverpool are out of sorts with just nine points, so anything is possible.
With talent such as Cristian Romero, Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and others in their ranks, nobody can rule out a trophy for Tottenham in 2023.
