Specsavers have taken to Twitter to make a mockery of Steven Gerrard, after Aston Villa announced his arrival as manager.
What’s the story?
Well, the well-known opticians decided to aim a dig at Gerrard, after Aston Villa chose him to replace Dean Smith at Villa Park.
Specsavers decided to mock the 41-year-old’s famous slip for Liverpool against Chelsea.
If you didn’t already know, Gerrard contributed to Liverpool losing the Premier League title by allowing Demba Ba to pick up a loose ball and score back in April 2014, in what was a huge game at Anfield.
Liverpool went on to lose the Premier League title by two points following the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, and Gerrard ended his playing career without a Premier League medal.

Steven Gerrard has many to silence at Aston Villa
Aside from the thousands who will chant Ba’s name at him across England this season, Gerrard has many doubters to silence.
It’s only his second role in management, and his first in the Premier League – it’s hardly a small job either.
Aston Villa are a massive club steeped in history, and Gerrard will also have to prove himself quickly to a demanding boardroom.
Smith lost five games in a row and was sacked, so that’s the kind of pressure Gerrard is up against.
Players like Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and John McGinn will make his life easier, although it’s down to Gerrard to get the best from them.
He’s a leader of men, who has dealt with many things in his career, but it will be interesting to see how Gerrard copes with this new pressure.
