According to Italian outlet, CMW, Tottenham Hotspur are looking at the idea of hiring Luis Enrique to replace Antonio Conte.

The current Spurs boss hasn’t committed his future to the north London club as of yet, and as he enters the final six months of his current deal, his situation remains up in the air.

Tottenham do want to keep Conte, but if he does decide to ditch Spurs in the same way he did Inter Milan, the club will need a replacement.

Enrique is seemingly someone who is being considered, and that would be an interesting appointment to say the least.

Indeed, not only is Enrique a Champions League-winning coach, he also knows how to utilise a player who has been one of Fabio Paratici’s top targets for quite some time – Adama Traore.

Enrique understands Traore

Enrique knows all about Traore having worked with him during his time as Spain manager.

In fact, Enrique gave Traore his international debut, and he spoke about the winger after his first cap.

“That is Adama, anyone who has seen him play for Wolves knows he is a player who is going to outplay (his opponent),” Enrique said.

“When he got onto the field we changed our game in order to pass to Adama so he could be one on one. He is a specialist, it will be very difficult to stop him one on one and opponents need to protect themselves. He will be able to cross the ball and generate situations with numerical superiority.”

Knows how to use him

It sounds as though Enrique knows exactly how to get the best out of Adama Traore.

So many managers have tried to turn Traore into something he’s not, but Enrique has held his hands up and admitted that Traore is a pace specialist who thrives in one-on-one situations.

Yes, he’s not a well-rounded player, but when you’re that physically gifted, you don’t need to be.

If Spurs do finally land Traore, perhaps Enrique will be able to get the best out of him.
