Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has lauded the ‘special’ Lukasz Fabianski on Instagram after the West Ham man played his final game for Poland.
The 36-year-old marked his final game for his national side by helping his team to a 5-0 win over San Marino on home soil during their World Cup qualifier.
Szczesny didn’t just grow up with the West Ham man on the international stage, but they were also on the books of Arsenal together.

Fabianski started the game for his country, before being subbed off just before the hour mark to a standing ovation from the crowd and a guard of honour from both sets of players.
It was an emotional moment for the shot-stopper during the final moments for his country as he left the field in tears.
Nonetheless, perhaps this is a sign that Fabianski, who has less than a year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, is also coming to an end on the domestic scene.
It doesn’t seem as though he will be extending his stay in East London, but he has served the club very well and he will be hoping to leave with a bang.
There is a great chance that the Hammers can lift some silverware at the club this season.
They are still in the League Cup, they are going strong in Europe and the FA Cup is around the corner.
Fabianski isn’t the only one in his final year at West Ham because a club legend in Mark Noble will also be hanging up his boots.
