Anthony Martial has snubbed loan transfers to Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United to join Sevilla, who have struck an agreement with Manchester United for his arrival in Spain.
That’s according to The Guardian, who report Los Nervionenses will pay the Red Devils £5m for the Frenchman’s temporary move. The La Liga title-chasers will also cover the winger’s £150k-a-week salary to sign Martial until the end of the season.
Sevilla will not gain an option or obligation to buy Martial from Manchester United in their loan transfer this month. But will obtain his services as they seek to overturn a four-point deficit to Real Madrid atop the league standings.

Newcastle and Tottenham showed interest in signing Martial before Manchester United hit a deal with Sevilla for his temporary transfer. But the forward snubbed moving to St James’ Park or north London, with Julen Lopetegui’s side always his first-choice destination.
Martial has sought a move away from Old Trafford this month in a bid to earn more regular game time. The 26-year-old has only started two of his eight Premier League appearances so far this season. He has not opened a top-flight fixture since October 2, either.
Martial takes pay cut to snub Newcastle, Tottenham for Sevilla loan transfer
Manchester United have held out on sanctioning a loan transfer for Newcastle, Tottenham and Sevilla target Martial over covid-related concerns. The Athletic add the Red Devils will only let players leave this month and remove their depth for favourable financial terms.

Sevilla have seemingly satisfied that stance with their £5m offer. A price Juventus Chairman Maurizio Arrivabene recently suggested his Serie A side would simply refuse to rise to.
Martial – who Gary Neville calls a ‘special talent’ – now plans to fly to Spain on Tuesday to complete his switch. Sevilla found a breakthrough in talks with Manchester United after the Red Devils’ £36m winger agreed to lower his £240k-a-week wage.
