Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Fabinho has been waxing-lyrical about Thiago Alcantara, claiming that he has a great understanding with the Spain international.
Fabinho was speaking about a number of members of the Liverpool squad, and it sounds as though he really rates Thiago, claimng that he’s a special player who has a lot of quality.
“Thiago is someone special. He’s a really good player and I can have good communication with him. I really understand Thiago. He has a lot of quality and now he’s getting confidence and it’s really important for him – he can be important for us,” Fabinho said.
It’s easy to see that Thiago and Fabinho have a great understanding on the pitch, which is why it’s such a shame that they’ve not been able to play together in midfield all that often this term.
Indeed, Fabinho and Thiago have had their own injury problems at different periods this season, and due to Liverpool’s ongoing issues at centre-back, the Brazilian has had to play out of position on numerous occasions this term.
Hopefully, next season we get to see Fabinho and Thiago running the midfield together more often, and if this pairing is allowed to flourish, they could help the Reds return to the summit of the Premier League.
