Spartak Moscow have denied receiving an offer from Liverpool for winger Quincy Promes.

Spartak Moscow general director Sergey Rodionov has told Russian newspaper Sport Express that the club have yet to receive an offer from Liverpool for winger Quincy Promes.

Liverpool are blessed with great attacking talent already, as Jurgen Klopp has the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge at his disposal.

However, Coutinho is injured right now, and Sadio Mane will be heading to the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal in January, and with Origi and Sturridge hardly ideal fits out wide, another winger is needed at Anfield.

Somebody with pace to fill in for Mane would be ideal, and reports suggest that Liverpool have found a player who fits that particular bill ahead of the January transfer window.

The Liverpool Echo recently reported that Liverpool want to sign Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes, and could make a January move to sign him.

Promes, 24, was snapped up by Russian giants Spartak in the summer of 2014 having hit 11 goals for FC Twente during the 2013-14 season, and he hasn’t looked back since.

With 37 goals in 78 games as a right winger for Spartak – including six goals this season – Promes has been one of the most dangerous players in Russia having terrorised defences with his pace, whilst he’s also grabbed two goals in 14 caps for the Netherlands national team.

A move to link up with international team-mate Georginio Wijnaldum could be appealing to Promes, but it seems that Spartak won’t let him go without a fight.

Spartak’s general director Sergey Rodionov has told Russian newspaper Sport Express that whilst there are rumours of a bid from Liverpool, they’ve yet to actually make a move to sign him.

Rodionov added that there is a release clause in Promes’ contract but wouldn’t divulge the value of that clause, and claimed that Spartak will try to keep hold of him if Liverpool wait to reach that value.

“Rumours, but no offers,” said Rodionov. “Spartak have not received anything, and have no plans to let Promes leave.”

“Yes. But how much – I do not tell,” he continued when asked about a release clause in Promes’ contract. “We will try [to keep him].” he added.
