Rob Dorsett and Jessica Creighton have offered a lowdown on Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, in England training amid rumours he will be axed for the touring party for Euro 2020.

The Sky reporters shared on Sky Sports News that the Liverpool academy product was in ‘good spirits’ and ‘smiling’, as he was ‘sparring’ with his club teammate, Jordan Henderson.

In a few hours time, Gareth Southgate will name his final 26-man squad for this summer’s Euros, with Liverpool’s right-back set to be the main talking point.

ESPN claim that Alexander-Arnold will miss out on that much-wanted spot, with Reece James, Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker all set to be selected ahead of him.

“This is going to be a headline, whether he’s in or out,” said Dorsett. “He’s right in the middle of that (in training).

Fellow reporter, Jessica Creighton, added: “He still looks in good spirits. He is still smiling.”

Dorsett then added: “There he is sparring with his Liverpool teammate, Jordan Henderson. But whatever happens with him today will be a big news story.

“He’s finished the season extraordinarily well for Liverpool. We have to point that out. But the options Gareth Southgate has at right-back are quite frankly extraordinary. They are the strongest of any nation in the tournament.”

As mentioned above, this is going to be headline news, regardless of which way Southgate favours.

The common reaction from the supporters suggests that if TAA is left out then there will be uproar.

But it is one of the most difficult decisions to make because he isn’t picking from any ordinary set of players.

Trippier was one of England’s best players at the World Cup in Russia and he has only improved since then – most recently winning La Liga with Atletico Madrid.

Just like Trippier, his former Tottenham teammate, Kyle Walker, has the experience and ability to play as a right-sided centre-back in a back three.

Meanwhile, Reece James just won the Champions League with Chelsea after producing an outstanding performance in the final up against Raheem Sterling.
