Burnley have reportedly bid £11.8 million for the Romania international.

Burnley may have to cough up more than double their initial £11.8 million offer for Florin Andone, according to Spanish publication, AS.

The Clarets appear to have turned their attention to the Deportivo La Coruna striker after seeing two bids for Chris Wood rejected by Leeds United.

But Andone could yet prove more costly than the New Zealand international, with AS reporting that Depor president Tino Fernandez is refusing to sell any of his players for anything less than the obligatory buy-out clauses in their contracts – and the Romanian’s is said to be set at around £27.3 million.

According to AS, another potential stumbling block for Burnley is the fact Andone is the only recognised centre forward in the Galicians’ squad to face Real Madrid this weekend – although they have recently re-signed Adrian Lopez on loan from Porto.

Deportivo are reported to have bid for another of their former strikers, Lucas Perez, and recapturing the Arsenal striker could – potentially – make them more inclined to lower their asking price for Andone.
