Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil might have a fan in Barcelona.

Gil only joined Tottenham this past summer but it’s been a difficult start to life in the Premier League.

In fact, the 20-year-old winger still hasn’t made a full debut in this competition, only clocking 57 minutes of top-flight football across five cameo appearances.

And Mundo Deportivo has this morning reported that Barcelona might be interested in signing him this winter.

The report claims that Barca’s strategy is to look for players who have ‘little prominence’ regarding their current teams – or, in other words, stars who aren’t making the first XI.

The Spurs attacker certainly fits the profile in this regard, following a £25 million move from Sevilla.

Is this happening?

Almost certainly not, no.

There’s no denying that Gil hasn’t had a rip-roaring start to the season.

But who exactly has in a Tottenham shirt? Genuinely nobody.

Fabio Paratici is clearly a fan of the youngster, having signed him during the summer, and cutting his loss on this makes zero sense at this stage.

You can see why Barcelona would want him, because he’s one hell of a talent and that’s why the North Londoners, Paratici and Antonio Conte won’t be calling it a day just yet on Gil.
