Newcastle United have been linked to Kevin Gameiro.

Newcastle United’s chances of signing Kevin Gameiro have been downplayed by Spanish newspaper AS.
The Express reported this week that Newcastle are planning a bid for the 30-year-old striker, who has been a bit-part player for Atletico Madrid this season.
AS report that while Gameiro is third choice, manager Diego Simeone does not want to lose him.

Atletico are reliant on goals from Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann, but Simeone regards Gameiro as his best option off the bench.
Gameiro has struck four goals this season, and has a prolific record, scoring 12 last season and 16 the year prior with Sevilla.
AS offer some hope though, reporting that it would take ‘a lot of money’ to consider selling. Without that, Atletico are unwilling to negotiate.
Gameiro is not the only striker on Newcastle’s radar, with Feyenoord top scorer Nicolai Jorgensen on their radar.
Spending a lot of money on Gameiro could backfire due to the player’s age, and it would make sense for Newcastle to concentrate on alternate targets.
