Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilon has been praised by the Spanish press for his performance against Holland last night.

Reguilon was introduced as a substitute in the first-half, after Jose Gaya picked up an injury, as Spain picked up a 1-1 draw against the Dutch.

While his performance wasn’t a headline grabbing one, the Tottenham man looked solid in defence, and it was interesting to see that his attacking qualities were noted by multiple sources, as he continued his fine form.

“Came on for the injured Gayà. Withstood the attacks of the Dutch well, always a threat going forward. Had to deal with second half changes made by the Netherlands,” AS Sport wrote, before giving him a 6/10.

Reguilon was also voted by Spain fans as their top performing player on the night in Marca.

The Spanish publication wrote: “Came on for the injured Gaya. Always an option down the left side in attack.”

Reguilon’s positive performance can only be good news for Spurs, as he continues to earn plaudits.

The 23-year-old has made a brilliant start to life in a Tottenham shirt, with his performances attracting great praise.

Reguilon is likely to feature against for Spain in games against Switzerland and Germany in the coming days, before he returns to Tottenham.
