Tottenham Hotspur are trying to capitalise on Barcelona’s reported interest in Antonie Griezmann.

The Spanish publication claims that Spurs have already made contact over an ambitious move for the former Liverpool striker, who has scored 130 goals in 168 games for Barca.
Suarez’s form this season is not so prolific – nine in 21 – and Don Balon reports that the Catalan giants want to sign Griezmann from Atletico Madrid to freshen up their forward line.

The Frenchman’s arrival could endanger Suarez’s place in the team, but Don Balon understands that the Uruguayan has not given much thought to Tottenham’s interest in recruiting him.
The report adds that Tottenham face a fight to keep Harry Kane beyond next summer and that Mauricio Pochettino has identified Suarez as one of the few strikers who could replace him.
However, Spurs should be looking to partner or supplement Kane with a forward of Suarez’s quality if they are serious about challenging the likes of Manchester City for major honours.

Gareth Bale seems a more plausible option if Tottenham are looking to the world-class market and may be interested in a return to North London after a difficult last 18 months at Real Madrid.
Suarez has his own sentimental attachment to Liverpool, and his possible reluctance to play for another English club is just one of several obstacles to Tottenham signing the South American.
