There are reports in Spain that a three-way battle for the signature of Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is on the cards.
Speculation over the future of Barcelona stopper Gerard Pique is growing and a Spanish newspaper insists Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all ready to bid.
A return to former club Manchester United seemed to be the most likely scenario, but reports surfaced earlier in the week that Jose Mourinho was also hovering.
Meanwhile, Catalan newspaper Sport had insisted that there is no substance to any of the rumours and Pique will play the rest of his career at Barcelona.
It is reported that Mourinho sees Pique as the ideal replacement for John Terry and is willing to pay around £23 million for his services.
Manchester City are said to be ready to put down £22 million and Manchester United are allegedly only happy to bid £20 million.
However, as yet this is all merely speculation because there has been no confirmation of any formal approaches.
