West Ham United are reportedly bidding for Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez.

According to Galician radio station Radio Galega (01:32), West Ham United have made a bid of €30million (£26.75million) for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez – but the offer has been rejected.
The Hammers have brought in seven new signings this summer, with Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson, but more spending could come.
A new striker appears to be a priority for Manuel Pellegrini, and whilst links to Porto striker Moussa Marega continue, another centre forward has been linked overnight.
Galician radio station Radio Galega (01:32) report that West Ham have offered €30million (£26.75million) for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, a bid which the La Liga side have rejected.
It’s claimed that Celta would ideally want the €50million (£44.5million) in Gomez’s release clause, but a deal could be agreed later this week if West Ham increase their offer to €40million (£35million).
After a major summer of spending, it remains to be seen whether West Ham can afford that, but the Uruguayan would be another South American addition for Chilean boss Pellegrini, after Paraguayan ace Balbuena and Brazilian talent Anderson.

Gomez, 22, joined Celta from Defensor Sporting last summer, and enjoyed a stunning first season in Spain with 18 goals and five assists in 36 La Liga outings.
A powerful forward who has become deadly in front of goal, Gomez looks to be a star of the future, and he could be heading to East London before the start of the season as West Ham seemingly pursue a big-money move.
