Spanish news outlet AS have some pretty positive news for Leeds fans regarding Marcelo Bielsa’s future at Elland Road.
The former Marseille manager’s contract in Yorkshire expires at the end of the season, and he is yet to renew his deal with the club.
However, AS believe he will stay on.
When translated, the title from AS reads ‘there is Bielsa for a while’ – that headline alone implies that the Argentine will spend a bit longer at Elland Road.
The Spanish news outlet add that there is commitment from all parties to continue the project at Leeds.
AS also say that those who hold Leeds close to their heart shouldn’t worry about the prospect of Bielsa departing once his contract is up.

Now, we’re sure that supporters won’t be relaxed until they see that the South American has actually put pen to paper.
However, this news should at least give them some assurance that their beloved boss will manage their equally beloved Leeds for a bit longer.
Bielsa clearly likes being at the club. He has spent more time at Leeds than he has with any other club during his managerial career.
He has taken charge of 125 games for Leeds, which is 12 more than his 113 matches for Athletic Bilbao.

This speaks volumes, as he has history of walking out if he’s unhappy at a club, regardless of how long he’s been there.
For example, Bielsa was at Lazio for two days before quitting because the club didn’t manage to land his targets, as Sports Joe recall.
In that respect, Leeds should be proud that they’ve managed to keep him happy for so long.
