Marc Cucurella will now have to keep to his word after making a bizarre promise before the World Cup final.

Spain became world champions for the first time since 2010 after Ferran Torres’ goal in extra-time was enough to defeat Argentina.

Cucurella was one of the key players in the run and the Real Madrid man will now have to fulfil one last promise.

The tattoo Marc Cucurella must get after winning the World Cup

As well as taking home a World Cup winners’ medal for the rest of his life, the left-back also vowed to get a tattoo of manager Luis De La Fuente if Spain won.

Before the final, he said: “If we win the World Cup, I will tattoo Luis de la Fuente’s face on my body.”

We now all eagerly await to see the artwork on the full-back’s body, when inked.

Furthermore, Cucurella has also said he would retire from international football if Spain won the World Cup, adding: “If we win the World Cup, I’ll call Luis the next day and tell him not to count on me anymore, that I’m retiring from the national team.

“With a European Championship and a World Cup, I can’t do any better.”

Marc Cucurella prepares to join Real Madrid

This summer has been one of the best for Cucurella after he was able to secure a big-money move to Real Madrid.

Xabi Alonso previously said he wanted to keep him at Chelsea but he is now preparing to head to the Bernabeu to work under Jose Mourinho.

There he will be tasked with stopping Barcelona from retaining the LaLiga title.
