Mount is currently on loan at Vitesse Arnem and is reportedly wanted by a host of Championship clubs but Norwich City could be perfect for him.

It has been a disappointing season for Norwich City.

The Canaries are used to challenging for promotion, but have had to settle for a 14th-place finish in the Championship this term.

Yet one highlight of their lacklustre campaign is the rise of midfielder James Maddison, who has lit up Carrow Road with 15 goals and as many assists in all competitions.

Maddison’s excellent form has seen him linked with a £30 million move to the Premier League, with Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City all reportedly vying for his services.

Such a fee will be impossible to turn down for Canaries boss Daniel Farke, who will almost certainly face the unenviable task of replacing his star midfielder this summer.

But Farke has already begun sounding out possible replacements, according to the Sun, with Chelsea prospect Mason Mount in his sights.

Mount is highly regarded at Stamford Bridge and has been linked with a host of Championship clubs thanks to a stellar season on loan at Eredvisie side Vitesse Arnhem.

The 19-year-old midfielder has struck 12 goals and contributed nine assists in the Netherlands, and hit the headlines last week by netting a hat-trick in Vitesse’s 5-2 Europa League play-off semi-final win over ADO Den Haag.

Creative and skillful with an eye for goal, Mount would certainly act as the perfect replacement for Maddison, and a season-long loan could be a real coup for Norwich.

But Dutch giants Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon and German side Werder Bremen could all have a say in where Mount lines up next season, with the quartet also reportedly interested in acquiring his services when he returns from Holland.
