Leeds United have been linked with Tommaso Bianchi, Marco Silvestri and Federico Masi.
According to Tuttomercato, Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is interested in bringing over former Italian Under-21 defender Federico Masi as talks begin between Tommaso Bianchi, Marco Silvestri and Nicola Salerno over three-year contracts.
The report on Federico Masi states: ‘There is new interest from Leeds owner Massimo Cellino on Federico Masi.
‘There is also the interest of Paganese, the club where he had been playing on-loan last season?’
The 23-year-old right back, who turns 24 in October, started his career strongly with Bari as a teenager and made a lot of appearances for the Italian youth team. However, in recent years, the defender has stalled in his development and was unable to make a big impact in the Italian third tier last season.
If signed by Leeds, it would be likely that the former Italian youth international would be used as back-up to predicted first choice right-back Sam Byram.
The report on Bianchi and Silvestri, however, seems a little more imminent with talks of three-year deals for both players:
Bianchi, a defensive midfielder by trade, was a regular during Sassuolo’s promotion season and has a lot of experience playing at the very top of Serie B. Nevertheless, he was loaned out following their promotion to the top flight to Modena.
Silvestri, however, is a name that has become well-known with Leeds United supporters and many predict the former Cagliari goalkeeper will be the number one at Elland Road next season, following the pending signing of Stuart Taylor.
Both, on paper, look like promising signings for Leeds United as Cellino looks to rebuild the stuttering Yorkshire side into a team capable of a strong push for promotion on a sustainable budget.
