Christian Eriksen has been one of Tottenham Hotspurs‘ stand-out players this season, with his 10 goals and 10 assists helping Spurs to third in the Premier League.

The Dane’s fantastic form has seen him linked with a big-money move to Barcelona this summer – but Spurs fans are convinced a newly-released photo proves he is set to commit his future to the north London club.

Eriksen was snapped alongside Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino at dinner in Copenhagen this week, and many Tottenham fans believe that contract talks must have been on the agenda.

While the topic of conversation between Eriksen and Pochettino will likely remain a secret, Spurs fans should be encouraged by the meeting – and the Dane’s latest comments to Spurs’ YouTube channel.

He hinted that he is planning on starting the new campaign as a Spurs player, saying: “I think we’ve improved and shown the league and the world that Tottenham is not a team that is only one season up and the one season down.

“We’ve stayed up there for three seasons in a row and showed that we are stable in what we’re doing.

“Maybe the next step is to go even higher but that’s something we have to do next season.”

The midfielder has once again been one of Tottenham’s key players this season, and arguably more so than Harry Kane, with the Danish playmaker often providing the ammunition for the England captain and the rest of his teammates.

Without Eriksen, Tottenham are a much less daunting prospect, so fans will be praying that he remains in North London for the foreseeable future.
