The Barcelona ace is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League after a contract dispute at the Nou Camp.

Jordi Alba of Barcelona stretches for the ball during the La Liga match between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Camp Nou on May 6, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

Jordi Alba has put Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert after admitting he would be tempted by a move to England – but Tottenham Hotspur should also be ready to pounce.

A report by the Express claims that the Premier League duo are waiting to discover the outcome of the left-back’s contract dispute at Barcelona, which has rumbled on for 18 months.

Alba is reported to have verbally agreed a new deal at the Nou Camp but has been waiting for a concrete offer since 2016, and has grown frustrated watching the likes of Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez pen new contracts.

And Spurs, who could be set to lose Danny Rose this summer, should take advantage of the situation.

Pacey and agile with excellent stamina, Alba is a defender not too dissimilar to Rose, who has recently been linked with a move to Everton after spending the majority of the 2017/18 campaign on the treatment table.

Alba, a Euro 2012 winner, is known for his attacking exploits and is expected to start for Spain in the summer’s World Cup in Russia, where he could potentially get his hands on the greatest prize in football.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants £150 million to spend this summer, and while a large portion of that might have to go on a player of Alba’s calibre, he would certainly be worth the investment.
