The Brazilian defensive midfielder has long been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Liverpool have agreed to sign AS Monaco’s Fabinho in a €50 million deal, according to the Telegraph.
The defensive midfielder, who scored eight goals in 42 appearances for the French club last season, has been linked with a move to the Reds’ rivals Manchester United and European powerhouses PSG, but it appears Jurgen Klopp has won the race to sign the 24-year-old.
Fabinho, who can also play as a right-back, is set to replace the Juventus-bound Emre Can and take up a defensive midfielder role alongside captain Jordan Henderson next season.

The move comes as part of Klopp’s mission to rejuvenate Liverpool’s midfield, with Naby Keita also set to join the ranks at Anfield this summer.
Fabinho’s move has shocked many Liverpools supporters, but the majority are pleased with their club’s first bit of business this transfer window:
If the deal does go through as expected, it shows that Klopp is wasting no time in strengthening his squad after their Champions League final disappointment on Saturday.

It has long been reported that the Reds require another striker, goalkeeper and defensive midfielder, so kicking off their summer business by beating Manchester United and PSG to Fabinho would be a real statement of intent.
A midfield of Fabinho, Henderson and Keita would certainly be rated as one of the best in the Premier League and would undoubtedly provide plenty of service to the Reds’ already-feared front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
