Germany midfielder Max Meyer is set to snub Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in favour of staying in the Bundesliga, according to Leipziger Volkszeitung (SportBuzzer).

The Schalke 04 star, 22, is reportedly on the verge of penning a deal with Hoffenheim, who qualified for the Champions League for the second consecutive season after another impressive league campaign.

Meyer was mooted for a move to the Premier League after announcing he was to leave Schalke after 14 years in April following a disagreement over a contract extension. The Germany international was banished from training last month, bringing a disappointing end to his time at his boyhood club.

It was believed that Jurgen Klopp had his eye on the free agent as a possible replacement for the Juventus-bound Emre Can, and that Spurs were interested in launching a second bid after failing to snap him up for £38 million in 2016.

But it looks as though the midfield prospect, who helped Schalke return to the Champions League after a four-season absence, will put pen to paper with Julian Nagelsmann’s men, who finished one place below Schalke in third.
