The Liverpool-bound midfielder received his fourth red card of the season in RB Leipzig’s 3-0 defeat to Mainz on Sunday.

Liverpool fans have plenty to be excited about ahead of Naby Keita’s long-awaited switch to Merseyside this summer.

The Guinean maestro has hit 10 goals and contributed seven assists for club and country this season, and the prospect of the 23-year-old sitting behind Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino next season has the Reds’ fans rubbing their hands together.

But there is one aspect of Keita’s game that has them concerned – his discipline.

The £48 million man was dismissed again on Sunday following two quick-fire yellow cards in RB Leipzig’s 3-0 Bundesliga defeat to Mainz, taking his red card tally to four this season.

Keita was first sent for an early bath in Leipzig’s 2-2 draw with Monchengladbach in September, before seeing red in their DFB Cup exit to Bayern Munich and Guinea’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Tunisia.

And the midfielder’s penchant for a red card has worried a lot of Liverpool fans, who have taken to Twitter to air their views.

While Keita’s creativity will no doubt bring the spark that has been missing in Liverpool’s midfield since Phillipe Coutinho’s departure in January, Jurgen Klopp will be keen to stamp out the midfielder’s disciplinary issues sooner rather than later.

And with Klopp’s reputation as an excellent man manager, Liverpool fans will hope the German will be the right man to put an end to their new midfielder’s bad habits before the start of the new campaign.
