Angelo Henriquez is impressing on loan at Dinamo Zagreb but is driven by the desire to return to Manchester United, according to his father and brother.
The 21-year-old Chilean international has been in inspired form since joining up with the Croatian champions and a deal is in place to join the club permanently at the end of his loan spell.
However, members of Henriquez’s family have revealed that he remains keen to fight for a recall to Manchester United.
They claimed he is very happy at Dinamo Zagreb, loves the city and feels comfortable there and cited his reunion with former Universidad de Chile strike partner Junior Fernandes as a huge positive.
However, when asked about his future, both Cesar – his brother – and Alfredo – his father – made clear he is motivated by the possibility of returning to Manchester United and making his mark there.
With 12 goals in his last 10 games, including a four-goal cameo in his last appearance, the United owned striker has certainly caught the imagination of fans and some have started to believe he still has a future at Old Trafford.
In England, the Chilean hitman has made just eight appearances, all on loan at Wigan during their 2012-13 relegation and FA Cup winning campaign.
This season, however, could prove to be the catalyst behind the explosive striker making a future in England and his improvement will likely have van Gaal keeping a close eye on him.
Although he faces competition from three respected world-class strikers in Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, not to mention the talented James Wilson, he is doing his bid for a place in the squad next season no harm with his current form.
