Leeds United fans have reacted to the club’s Twitter message about Patrick Bamford after he was questioned on talkSPORT at the start of the season.
Before a ball was kicked, ex-Leeds boss, David O’Leary, questioned on talkSPORT whether the Leeds man was good enough for the Premier League.
Well, with Harry Kane being the only Englishman to outscore him in the Premier League season, Bamford has shut a lot of critics up.
And Leeds fans were loving their club calling out those early doubters as Bamford ends the campaign as one of the top performers in England’s top-flight.
But added with that, there are also sections of Leeds fans that want him to be called up for England.
Whilst Gareth Southgate has delayed naming his final squad on Tuesday, he will still select a much larger squad before trimming it down.
And Bamford will be hoping his name will be on that list, as 26 players are able to be selected rather than the usual 23 this summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin seems the one who will be back-up to Harry Kane, it’s just a case of who is behind those two.
Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings have previously been called up by Southgate and it seems Bamford will be competing with those two for those final spots.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Leeds fans reacting to their club firing shots back at talkSPORT’s tweet from earlier on in the campaign:
