Some Tottenham fans on social media have been reacting to Gareth Southgate’s comments on Harry Kane ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.
Southgate has admitted that although Harry Kane will want to play every single minute for the Three Lions, he will be given a chance to get a rest in some games.
“If I allowed Harry to make that decision, he’d play every minute! So that won’t be happening. It’s great we’ve got a captain who wants to play every minute,” Southgate said.
As you can imagine, Spurs fans had plenty to say about the fact their captain isn’t going to be over-exerted.
A number of supporters were happy about this update, while one fan claimed that this was a victory for Jose Mourinho, who has previously stated that he wants a compromise when it comes to his star man’s international minutes.
Kane is undoubtedly one of England’s most important players, but we can’t help but feel that games against the likes of San Marino represent a great chance to rotate and give him a much-needed rest.
