The former Charlton Athletic player and manager only moved to Southend United in January.

Chris Powell has emerged as surprise second favourite to become the next Charlton Athletic manager, barely two months since his appointment by Southend United.
Powell – a former Charlton player and boss – is now 4/1 to land the role with Sky Bet, having been 25/1 previously.
It looked like becoming a two-horse race, with Crawley Town’s Harry Kewell (now 1/5) and Charlton caretaker Lee Bowyer (now 8/1) leading the betting in the week following Karl Robinson’s defection to Oxford United, with no other candidate occupying odds shorter than 22/1 – that is until now.

Powell led Charlton to the League One title and ninth in the Championship during his first spell in charge at the Valley, but left after an alleged difference of opinion with outgoing owner Roland Duchatelet.
However, whether he would welcome a return to south-east London remains to be seen, after appearing to settle in well at Southend.
The Shrimpers were 18th when Powell succeeded Phil Brown as manager, but a run of five wins and one defeat in the 48-year-old’s first 10 games has lifted them six places – three behind Charlton.
Could Charlton bring Powell back to the Valley from Southend?
