Tottenham Hotspur youngster Shayon Harrison left the club on loan on transfer deadline day to try and kickstart his career.

Promising striker Harrison struggled on loan at Yeovil last season and has not had a look in for the Spurs first team in 2017/18.

He has had to be patient at Southend so far, an unused substitute last week, he came off the bench for the final five minutes against Wigan at the weekend.

Southend were already 3-1 up and Harrison had a late chance to add to the tally, just missing the target.

Despite this miss, Harrison made a good early impression in just over five minutes of action.

Fans were impressed with his contribution and are excited about how he may be able to contribute over the coming months.

Scoring would have done wonders for Harrison’s confidence but he did well to get himself noticed and in position to score in the first place.

The 20-year-old faces competition from Crystal Palace striker Freddie Ladapo who also signed on loan at the end of the transfer window, and both players are battling for chances.

Harrison has made a good early impression but he must build on it from here and hope he gets a starting chance to show more.
