In the latest instalment looking at the hottest prospects hoping to make the grade with certain clubs according to Football Manager 2017, we look at the three most exciting teenagers that will be hoping to break through at Southampton.

Callum Slattery (CM)

The 17-year-old is yet to make his debut for the Saints’ first-team, but was part of the under-23 side that beat Crawley in the Football League Trophy earlier this month. He scored in that game, and will be hoping that any further appearances in the competition boost his chances of breaking into Claude Puel’s squad.

The goalkeeper has made two appearances in the Football League Trophy, conceding just one goal in those games. Though his path to the first-team is currently blocked by Fraser Forster, FM 2017 is optimistic about his future as he has the potential to become a four and a half star player in years to come. His best attribute currently is his determination, for which he already scores 20 out of 20.

The 16-year-old looks destined to follow in the footsteps of former Saints academy graduate Luke Shaw by going to the very top of the game. Football Manager 2017 suggests that he has the potential to become a five star player in future, and with the side perhaps lacking a bit of depth at left-back, it may not be too long before he gets an opportunity to show what he can do in the first-team.
