Maya Yoshida has been a regular in the Premier League for Southampton since he arrived at St Mary’s from VVV Venlo seven years ago.

Maya Yoshida has admitted that he turned down an offer from a Saudi Arabian club in January while claiming that he would not swap Southampton for any other Premier League outfit, speaking to the club’s official website.
In an era when The Saints have been lauded for a series of inspired bargain signings, Yoshida surely has to go down as one of the best. The South Coast club paid just £3 million to bring the Japanese international to St Mary’s from Eredivisie outfit VVV Venlo and he has made almost 200 appearances for the club in the last seven years.
At the age of 30, Yoshida is now one of the most senior players at Southampton and he has started five Premier League games since returning from the Asian Cup in February.
And Yoshida has revealed that he is still loving life in the red and white kit, claiming that he has no plans to go anywhere for the time being.

“In the last window (last summer), there was interest in me from Saudi Arabia, but I don’t work for the money,” said the 95-cap centre-back.
“I have a good contract with Southampton. If I had an offer from another Premier League club on the same level for an extra one million (pounds), I would choose to stay at Southampton and finish a beautiful career with good friends.”
As it stands, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are just five points above the relegation zone with a handful of games remaining in what has been a testing 2018/19 campaign.
