The Southampton striker was present as Millwall’s Under-23s played Charlton Athletic on Tuesday lunchtime.

The Southampton striker, Jonathan Afolabi, appears to have joined Millwall on trial.
The 19-year-old was named (albeit incorrectly as ‘Jonothan Afolabi’) among the Lions’ substitutes on the official teamsheet for Tuesday’s Under-23 team fixture at Charlton Athletic.
Millwall had previously failed to disclose Afolabi’s identity, as well as that of two other trialists – which appear to be Harry Ransom, the club’s recent signing from Eastbourne Borough, and Albert Hopkins, the Oxford United midfielder.
Afolabi moved to Southampton from St Josephs Boys in his native Republic of Ireland in 2016, but is out of contract at the end of this season.
The Saints have yet to confirm the Dubliner’s release, although it is not uncommon for players from bigger academies to go on trial with other clubs at this time of year, having often been informed early of their fate.

Afolabi, who is of Nigerian descent, has featured regularly for Southampton’s U23s this season and twice in the EFL Trophy.
Would the Southampton striker be a good addition for Millwall?
