Danny Ings joined Southampton on loan from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Ings has joined Southampton on an initial season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Saints will have to sign Ings for an initial transfer fee of £18 million next summer plus £2m in add-ons after his season-long loan spell.
The England international forward – who earns £75,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has revealed that Liverpool winger Salah bet him that he will score more goals than him this season.
Ings told The Mirror about the bet with Salah: “He’s not going to have to buy me a car or anything if I win – although he can if he wants. He proposed the bet on messages when I left.
“Hopefully we’ll both score plenty of goals. It would be incredible to beat him, wouldn’t it? I’m just working every day to improve.
“I’ve missed a lot of football. But, of course, it’s not a cash bet. I wouldn’t be stupid enough to put any cash on it. It’s just a bit of banter.”

Stats
Ings struggled with injuries during his time at Liverpool, but the 26-year-old forward has started life at Southampton brilliantly.
The former Bournemouth and Burnley forward has scored two goals in four Premier League appearances for the Saints so far this season, according to WhoScored.
Sala has scored two goals and provided one assist in four league matches for Liverpool so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
James Milner praise
Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has spoken highly of James Milner, who is an important player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s team at Anfield.
Redknapp wrote in The Daily Mail about Milner: “James is an exemplary professional who is incredibly fit.
“Despite the arrivals at Liverpool of Naby Keita and Fabinho, Milner has started all four games this season. It shows just how much Jurgen Klopp values his contribution.”
