The Southampton prospect has enjoyed an impressive season so far.

The FA Youth Cup frequently provides young players with opportunities to step into the limelight and the latest prospect to do just that is Southampton forward Michael Obafemi.
The talented Republic of Ireland youth international hit a hat-trick in his side’s 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last night, as reported by the club’s official website, with Southampton looking to enjoy a lengthy run in the competition – they will face West Ham United or Blackpool away in the fourth round.

Obafemi signed for Southampton in 2016 having previously played for Leyton Orient’s academy and has been in prolific form at U18 level this season, scoring eight goals in ten league games.
Renowned for his pace, Obafemi previously represented his district as a sprinter.

A very exciting prospect, Obafemi has featured for Southampton’s U23 side this season, playing 15 minutes in the defeat to Aston Villa.
Obafemi frequently looks to get in behind opposing defences and models his game on former Brazil striker Ronaldo.
The 17-year-old still has much time on his side to develop even further and he will hope to gain more experience at U23 level as the campaign progresses.
