Southampton are said to be keen to snap up Dayot Upamecano from Red Bull Leipzig.

Van Dijk joined Southampton from Celtic in 2015, and he spent three years at St. Mary’s, where he developed into one of the finest defenders in the world.
Van Dijk has now gone on to Liverpool, but his performances at Southampton helped the south coast club over a number of seasons.
And Upamecano would have a similar sort of potential if he was to join the Saints.

Upamecano is currently playing Red Bull Leipzig, and his performances have earned him a reputation as one of the brightest defensive talents in Germany.
Upamecano is blessed with great pace, but he is also comfortable in possession.
At only 20-years-old he already has a great deal of first-team experience behind him, and if Southampton were able to snap him up in January, then he could be a seriously exciting addition.
