Buoyed by their three-match unbeaten league run prior to the international break, Southampton will be confident of keeping their good run going as they welcome Burnley to St Mary’s. Saints have not lost at home this season, with a win and two draws on their own turf to date.

Visitors Burnley were unfortunate to go down to a last-gasp defeat to Arsenal a fortnight ago, and have generally adapted well to life back in the Premier League following their promotion last season. Sean Dyche still has to cope without the services of Andre Gray, with the goalscoring burden now on the shoulders of Southampton-born Sam Vokes.

The Key Battle – Charlie Austin vs Michael Keane

Austin has been in fine form of late, scoring five goals in his last five games, and will fancy his chances of adding to his tally against his former club. Burnley defender Keane – rewarded for his fine early season form with an England call-up – will be doing everything in his power to stop him.

Last Meeting:

Saints claimed all three points when these two sides last met in March 2015. Shane Long opened the scoring before a Jason Shackell own goal gave the hosts a routine 2-0 win at St Mary’s.

The two clubs are tied in this fixture overall, with 19 wins apiece. The spoils have been shared on 14 occasions.
