The Saints went back to the top of the PL2 Second Division table.

Southampton Under-23s manager Radhi Jaidi has given his thoughts after his side regained top spot in Premier League 2’s second tier thanks to a 4-1 victory over Norwich City at Staplewood Campus on Friday night.
Dan N’Lundulu opened the scoring early on, before goals from Tom O’Connor, Tyreke Johnson and Will Smallbone made sure of all three points, whilst also seeing the Saints leapfrog Wolverhampton Wanderers at the top of the table.
Although Southampton had slightly less possession than the Canaries, they were much more threatening in the final third, with 10 shots in total, seven of which were on target, while they also weighed in with five corners to their opponents’ one.
With Wolves not in action until Monday night, taking on Aston Villa away, Southampton will sit at the summit for the time being at least, and Jaidi was delighted with how his charges outworked their opponents throughout the 90 minutes.

“Credit to the boys, I thought the performance was excellent,” he told the official Saints website at full time. “We’ve got ourselves into a really exciting position and we’re going to keep pushing until the end.
“We want to put pressure on Wolves; that’s how you keep a league competitive. It all starts with hard work, and let me say that the attitude from the boys was spot on tonight. They’re making it hard for me to pick a starting XI.”
Southampton’s Under-23s have two fixtures left in Premier League 2 this season – away at West Bromwich Albion on 18 April and at home against Sunderland on 29 April, the 2018-19 campaign finale that will take place at St Mary’s.
