Southampton are bracing themselves for the potential exit of James Ward-Prowse amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
That’s according to TalkSPORT, who claim that Southampton are seemingly expecting Ward-Prowse to leave if they suffer relegation.
Ward-Prowse doesn’t actually have a release clause in his contract but Southampton would allegedly allow him to go if an offer comes in.
Ward-Prowse has been a long-serving player for Southampton and the Saints wouldn’t want to stand in his way after so many years of great service.
It’s noted that Ward-Prowse has received interest from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in recent transfer windows.
If Southampton do suffer relegation, you can imagine that pretty much every Premier League club will have an interest in Ward-Prowse.
Tottenham and West Ham are surely still keeping tabs on Ward-Prowse and a summer move could be in the pipeline.

James Ward-Prowse is a truly unique talent
Ward-Prowse is an unparalleled threat from any set piece.
The 28-year-old has now scored 17 free kicks in the Premier League and is just one behind David Beckham.
Southampton may well go down but you wouldn’t bet against Ward-Prowse breaking that record in the coming weeks.
The England international has bagged six goals in 24 Premier League games this season whilst also bagging two assists.
The immense quality Ward-Prowse possesses from dead balls would be a significant weapon to any team, but he’s much more than that.
Ward-Prowse is incredibly hard working and smart on the ball, proving to be one of the top Premier League midfielders.
Praised as ‘unbelievable’ by Oriol Romeu, Ward-Prowse has proven himself to be an all-round star and the heartbeat of the Southampton side.
Tottenham would be a very appealing move given their top four hopes, and Spurs need homegrown players.
A move to West Ham maybe wouldn’t seem quite as exciting as they fight for form under David Moyes but much will depend on Southampton’s fate.
